Sydney frequently volunteers to drive people to the airport simply due to the fact that it allows her to engage in one of her favourite activities: people watching. She’s a student of the human race and believes that all people have worth. This trait allows her to never cease to be amazed by the imagination, wonder and surprise of those around her.
With 37 years in the public school system, Sydney truly enjoys teaching others as well.
Even though she is no longer in front of a classroom, the instructor side of her still remains; something which she is able to impart to others in her work with PRIME. Her role as Vice President allows her to provide guidance, knowledge and support to the PRIME family as a whole.
Sydney enjoys spending time with her dear family and her two wonderful and active grand-daughters. She’s also quite the theatre buff, something which led to her working with Vancouver Civic Theatres for 20 years. It’s not uncommon for her to branch off into song, creating a musical out of her own life. And as an avid reader, Sydney has never met a book she didn’t like, “I think that one’s favourite book is influenced by the experiences in one’s life at the time of reading. Heidi left a huge mark on me as a young girl looking for an identity and an explanation for being.”
